OpenAI's Back to School offer gives eligible students four free monthly billing periods of ChatGPT Plus, including ChatGPT Work. You verify enrollment through SheerID while signed in to the ChatGPT account that should receive Plus. Your school email does not have to match your ChatGPT email.

ChatGPT Plus for US veterans and service members: 1 free year
Veterans and retirees who left active duty within the past 12 months, and active service members who will leave within the next 12, can get one free year of Plus. Verification goes through ID.me, and an ID.me identity can be linked to only one ChatGPT account. If you already have a web-purchased Plus plan, OpenAI applies the free year after you select Claim offer. The offer cannot be shared, transferred or sold. Read the terms.
ChatGPT free trial invite links: how they work
OpenAI may let eligible users invite friends and family to a free, limited-duration trial. Eligible users get a limited number of unique referral codes by email or inside ChatGPT, and OpenAI sets the length, number of invites and who can accept. Its example is a 3-month trial. Invites generally go to new users or users on the Free plan. The trial renews as a paid subscription on the payment method on file unless you cancel before it ends. Cancel on the platform where you subscribed (website, App Store or Google Play). Under the student offer, cancelling early keeps Plus until the end of the current billing period, but you should expect to lose the remaining free months.
